Level I - Pistol Orientation/Handgun Concealed Carry Permit
Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 10:05PM Basically, this is handgun orientation 101! This is an ideal course for providing an individual beginner with basic foundational knowledge and skills necessary to safely handle, load/unload, shoot, and maintain a firearm. We spend time both in the classroom and in our indoor range in a comfortable learning environment to effectively understand basic pistol nomenclature, safety, ownership responsibilities, shooting fundamentals and marksmanship skills, as well as pistol selection factors. Additionally, the student will learn applicable laws in the State of Tennessee that pertain to the use of deadly force, and when the use of deadly force is justifiable. This course qualifies the graduating student to apply for their Tennessee handgun carry permit.
The course length is approximately 8 hours and is held both weekends and weekdays, as well as flexible evening hours during the week spread over two days.
**Women-only classes are held periodically throughout the year.

My wife and I took this Class this weekend and I wanted to say Thanks to Chris for making the class worth it. I have some experience with guns, but my wife had not had any at all and was very apprehensive about taking the class and having to then qualify witht a handgun. The class was very informative and covered information that was perfect for a level 1 beginner. Then at the Range, the instructors were excellent as they helped my wife feel more confident as she was qualifying. So I just wanted to say thank you G&L for having quality instructors that made this a quality class!
